The Max Planck Freiburg Epigenetics Meeting has established a tradition as one of the key events in chromatin and epigenetic research and provides and highly interactive platform in a very familiar setting. The meeting is held every second year in early December and we were again very pleased to have positive responses from so many of the invited speakers and colleagues for the December 2020 meeting.
Despite the recent Corona-related uncertainties, we have been trying our best to maintain the plans for an in-person meeting and for the Glühwein tasting at the Christmas market. We are now facing a situation where the Corona-fighting policy of the Max Planck Society will not allow in-person meetings at Max Planck institutes until next spring. In addition, there is the danger of a second Corona wave later in the year and international travel may still not be fully functional. Asifa and I have therefore decided to postpone the Max Planck Freiburg 6th Epigenetics Meeting that was scheduled for December 10-12, 2020.
Although this has been a very hard choice, it will give a transparent statement and remove any uncertainties regarding registration timing and possible travel restrictions. We would like to maintain the same speaker line-up and resume the meeting in early December 2022. We kindly ask all invited speakers to already make a note in their calendars. The specific dates will be communicated by the end of this year. We wish to see you all in the best spirits and we trust that we can come out even stronger after this Corona crisis.
With our best wishes,
